NASA MyMoon___
I was Chuck the MyMoon Squirrel. Really. I was also lead creative and designer for NASA's campaign to get Millennials interested in going back to the Moon. But yeah, also that squirrel.
NASA originally wanted to create "second life, but on the moon" but I wasn't having it. Instead I designed a down to earth experience where every item on screen leads to delightful mini sites, videos, and content created for a unique audience with a new point of view on science. Each piece of content, carefully designed by myself.

A couple of fun facts about the project:
I created content for the first and only time NASA has officially addressed moon landing deniers.
Working with a team and a preeminent lunar scientists and stakeholders we created a mini-site along with a series of videos to directly debunk the most common theories.
These videos, fashioned after The Colbert Report, appeared on YouTube and other NASA channels.
I'm the only person ever authorized to create a stylized, modified, "NASA Meatball" logo.
The "meatball" as it's known, is the round NASA logo. The design is timeless and the utmost reverence and respect should is in order. That said, after much wrangling and pitching, I was allowed to stylize the logo for a single mini-site where it made sense in the context of community based content.
As a result, for a limited time, a graffiti version of the NASA Meatball was kicking around a government website.
As Chuck the MyMoon Squirrel I was responsible for bringing a lot of firsts to the site. The first squirrel to interview bands at SXSW, to represent NASA on YouTube in a series of Colbert Report inspired videos, and first to nearly get fired when the suit was momentarily commendiered by a musician during a Vice afterparty (long, funny story).
Dozens of content-rich minisites were created, all with custom concert-style posters to announce and promote their arrival.
This is a tiny sampling of the content created over the course of a 3 year NASA program; content which ranged from video, to stills, social media campaigns, logos, branding, and absolutely anything visual.
I loved working with the ambitious NASA team who went well out of their comfort zone and really believed in the site.
